Our Hiring Process begins in early January
Our farm is firmly committed to safety during the pandemic, and in 2020 established work practices that kept us all safe and healthy. While we cannot predict what 2021 will bring, potential employees should be prepared for full-day mask-wearing and disinfecting practices that have become a part of our daily life on the farm.
Assistant Farm Manager: Assist Kristen (farm owner, primary operator) in running production activities and crew management. This is a great position for someone with several years of farm experience looking to take their career to the next level. Position begins part-time March 1 and becomes full-time in early April. Wage is based on experience and work scope agreement, starting at $15/hr. Other benefits include PTO, gear stipend, health care stipend.
Market and Farm Stand Manager: Lead our farm in its thriving market presence at the Westside Community Market in Madison each Saturday, and at our farm on Wednesdays April through November. This position requires sales experience (ideally in a fast-paced farmers' market setting) and a high-level attention to detail. Weekly hours for the position are paired with the needs of these 2 sales outlets: Wednesday 9am-7:30pm, Friday 12pm-5:30pm, Saturday 4:30am-2pm. These hours can be paired with field team hours on the farm for a full-time position if desired. Wage is based on experience and work scope agreement, starting at $15/hr. Other benefits include PT, gear stipend, health care stipend.
Farm Team Member: We have several openings on our farm team. We are a small crew and farm team members participate in a wide array of activities throughout the season from planting to harvest to post-harvest and sales. While we love working with folks who bring experience from other farms (and reward that experience), we also hire highly motivated, eager applicants who understand the physical demands of this work and are ready to dive in. Successful candidates are familiar with "work-in-all-weather" settings, can work quickly and accurately to hit productivity goals, and enjoy the evolving nature (i.e. wild ride!) of the growing season. Farm Team positions are either full field season (April through October) or peak season (late May/June through September). Peak season positions can accommodate an academic schedule. These positions can be part-time or full-time, and start at $12.00/hr. Additional benefits are included for full field season positions.

Worker Shares and Sitter Shares
Each year we have a group of CSA Worker Share members who work alongside the crew in exchange for their CSA shares. We also have a group of Sitter Shares who spend weekly time with Cyrus, our 7 year old son. We have a strong, returning group of folks in these roles but we will announce any openings we have in our Worker Share/Sitter Share team for 2021 in March.

Volunteer Work Days
During the summer field season (June through mid August), we invite volunteers to join in our morning activities every Thursday from 8am-12pm. You will receive farm vegetables for your morning of work, and get to experience life on the farm crew without making a full-season commitment.
